SRMS725-BCM (Blue Chameleon) Ibanez electric bass SR 5-string Multi Scale. Bass Workshop.
SRMS is a series of SR basses equipped with fanned frets, which is a method of being able to have different scales on different strings, a so-called multi-scale fingerboard.
This is done, among other things, to obtain optimal scale length for all strings.
Low strings sound significantly better, firmer, tighter and stuns, with a longer scale while the thin strings become harsh, plonky and very hard to play with as long a scale as the low strings need. Multi-scale, is the solution to this, tight and stable low tones and highs with maintained snap and warmth.
The SRMS725 is an instrument that is part of the Ibanez Bass Workshop series. Ibanez Bass Workshop is a bass department at Ibanez that works under the motto "From Concept To Reality", where the goal is to develop new and exciting bass concepts. Or to test already existing, but odd, concepts. Here you will find instruments that take the electric bass a step further, odd birds stuffed with innovation for those who want to take their bass playing a step (or 3) further. If you want to find standard birds, this is not the place to look.
The bass is equipped with a further developed version of the Ibanez mono-rail bridge, now called MR5S (previous version called IV). The stable is developed to enable a greater range of intonation possibilities than the previous version IV had). Also greater possibility of adjustment of the base's setup in general.
All this while becoming significantly easier to handle. Mono rail also has the advantage of isolating the vibrations of the strings from each other, which gives cleaner tones with longer sustain.
The foundation is based on the Ibanez SR bass, probably the bass model most people think of when someone says "Ibanez bass". SR has for 35 years been the market-leading model among "small body" basses (basses with smaller, slimmer bodies) in the world. These are lightweight, easy-to-play basses that are extremely comfortable to wear and play, perfect for people who play a lot or play long sessions. SR is available in versions from cheap entry-level basses to absolute worst basses and everything in between, whatever price range you want to be in, there is an SR base for you. They are also available in several different woods and pickup configurations.
