The guitar world has long yearned for a return of tremolo to the MXR lineup, and now the wait is finally over. The M305 is an updated and modernized incarnation of the classic M159 from yesteryear.
The MXR Tremolo's six different waveforms represent classic and iconic variations of the effect as well as new sounds concocted by MXR's design team. The first, the MXR style, recreates the organic sound and pulse of the beloved M159. Bias originates from the blooming compression of the tremolo effect that came with guitar amplifiers in the 60s. Revo mode, a new invention from MXR, reverses the optical tremolo waveform for more pronounced highs and lows. The opto style simulates the soft pulsating effect popular in many amplifiers. Inspired by a well-known effects unit, SQR creates angular, extremely pronounced tremolos. And finally, Harm recreates the psychedelic, phaser-like effect found in a few vintage amps in the early sixties.
