K Custom is a series of incredibly musical and dynamic cymbals. The K Custom has a dark and warm undertone with a large body but still with slightly brighter and more penetrating notes than many models of darker cymbals normally have. The hammering method Zildjian uses here gives the series controlled overtones and a lovely, understated trashiness that doesn't overpower but helps bring out an explosiveness with a quick sortie. K Custom can be heard and come through the music in a good way, but are fast enough that they don't mess up and take up too much space in the sound image. So you're looking for a model that fits most things but prefers the darker sound over e.g. The light of the A series, then K Custom is something for you!
KC0801W includes:
- 14" Dark Hi-hat - A hi-hat with a warm and dark tone but with a clear, slightly brighter note that penetrates. Dark Hats have a clear sound when you stomp the hi-hat, respond quickly to hi-hat openings and can roar well with really open playing.
- 20" Medium Ride - A dark and massive body with a clear impact that makes the whole cymbal come alive. The upper side of the cymbal is turned in a natural finish, while the underside is unturned and in a brilliant finish, which gives the model its unique sound.

18" Fixed Crash - Two crashes with a dark and warm undertone but with fast attack and a brilliant top shimmer. Although the crashes disappear out of the soundscape as quickly as they opened and gave a dark but clear crash sound.
