When a bass, heavy metal, and electronics-interested man from Chile named Douglas moved to Finland and started building his own bass pedals, it didn't take long before the name Douglas suddenly started sounding like "Darkglass".
This bass distortion pedal is a compact cousin of the Darkglass Alpha Omega, which Douglas Castro developed together with Karnivool bassist Jon Stockman. The two lived together and worked every day for a month to recreate the sound of two songs from the band's Sound awake album. One song, Goliath, put the sound in the Alpha circuit and the other song, Simple boy, put the sound in the Omega circuit.
Darkglass Alpha Omicron thus has two different distortion circuits, Alpha and Omega. It has controls for BLEND, DRIVE, LEVEL and MOD. The Alpha Omicron also has a Bite switch for additional definition and a Growl switch for thicker sounds and fuller lows.
