Designed together with Akira Jimbo, the Hybrid series combines the dark sonic characteristics with brilliance!
The model has a turned surface in a natural finish and an unturned surface in a brilliant finish. This gives a cymbal with a sound you basically recognize as the classic K Custom sound but adds additional projection and top and that you have two different surfaces to play on which when played with the grape gives notes of a completely different character.

14.25" Hybrid Hi-hat - Somewhat odd size, this to give a little more power than a normal 14" hi-hat.
The under cover is a MasterSound but with wider folds for a larger contact surface between under and over cover, which gives darker & warmer chick and wash. - 20" Hybrid Ride - Maximum versatility is the main idea with this ride which has fantastic crash characteristics but also an incredibly penetrating and bright clock.

K Custom Hybrid - A door to a new world!
K Custom Hybrid is developed together with Akira Jimbo. The series has two different surfaces. The outside is turned and in a natural finish, while the surface in the middle is unturned and in a brilliant finish. This means that you can make the cymbals thin but still have the projection of a thicker cymbal. It also provides two different surfaces to play on, where the cymbal gets two completely different types of sound. If you play with the grape on that surface in natural finish, the touch is soft and the cymbal gives a dark, warm sound with a nice wash. If you instead play on the unturned surface in brilliant finish, the touch is clearer with more top and considerably more penetrating.
So with the Hybrid models, you have the opportunity to get an incredible amount of different sounds out of your cymbal set.
The dark tone and warmth are recognizable from the regular K Custom models, but the unturned center surface adds another dimension and opens doors to completely new worlds!
