The series is hammered with a completely unique method that gives the cymbals a dry, low pitch and a shimmering sound character. Depending on how they are played, they can have either an intense or a more mature sound. The K series has long been popular in jazz circles but also among funk and rock drummers. If you caress it, it will slink away, but if you give it a more cagey treatment, it explodes and is mean with a lovely trashiness. In either mode, the cymbal opens up and sounds fantastic.
