The S model is a unique Ibanez design that has been around since -87, just as long as the RG models.
The model was first called Saber but soon changed its name to the short and concise "S".
Axion Label can best be described as a branch of the Iron Label tree, guitars built primarily for metal and hard rock. Axion Label is more looking to the future in, for example, new types of pickups, appearance, etc., while Iron Label is more grounded in what is used and has worked for a long time.
Guitars designed for those who want to play heavy music and need tools specially designed for it.
Of course, you can play more than metal on the instruments, you can play everything on them.
The series has Sub-Zero treated band rods, which simply put are specially treated and hardened rods that get properties very similar to stainless bands.
Common to the series is also that they have luminencent side dots, luminescent band markings, on the upper side of the neck. Something you probably don't fully understand the benefit of until you've stood on a stage in pitch darkness and can't see which band you're putting your hand on. Truly an absolutely fantastic little invention.
The series features a further development of Ibanez's famous Wizard necks called the Nitro Wizard. The model has a 5-piece Panga Panga/Walnut construction that is a road-tested construction that has taken stability to a new level.
The S671ALB is equipped with Fishman Fluence Modern humbuckers and a Fluence single in the middle position.
Fishman Fluence is an active mic with two different sounds, built into the mic itself called voice 1 and voice 2.
Voice 1 - "Modern Active High Output - The ideal active ceramic humbucker tone. Crisp, searing crunch, tight bass with no mud, and a growl".
Voice 2 - "Modern Passive Attack - Organic, high output, passive ceramic tone. Superb distortion characteristics with Fluence dynamics and response".
