Ibanez Bass Workshop is a bass department at Ibanez that works under the motto "From Concept To Reality", where the goal is to develop new and exciting bass concepts. Here you will find instruments that take the electric bass a step further, odd birds stuffed with innovation.
The SRH500F is basically an SR bass but with a hollow body and with a traditional F-hole. The body is made of mahogany with a spruce top. The body has a slight chamfer on the top which makes it more comfortable to play. The fretboard is a bound fretless board made of Jatoba. To make the neck more accessible, a part has been cut at the neck attachment compared to normal SR basses. The neck has band marking lines on the top to make it easier to find the right intonation when moving quickly.
The base is equipped with a custom stand with a built-in AeroSilk Piezo system. This is a specially designed system with the aim of mimicking the sound of a standing bass. The controls are a volume and a tone.
