The Ibanez Prestige represents a combination of "state of the art" manufacturing methods and ancient Japanese craftsmanship. Accuracy and precision down to the smallest detail, in everything from wood selection and parts, craftsmanship, adjustment (setup) and paintwork. The result is instruments of the highest quality with unparalleled playing comfort where nothing is left to chance, either in terms of playing or sound.
The RG series The RG is undoubtedly the model that Ibanez is best known for, undoubtedly the ultimate rock guitar. A guitar that started a school for how a rock guitar should look and be equipped.
Features such as extremely easy-to-play and fast necks, solid cut-away for access to the highest frets, swingarms that are recessed in the body and hold the tone even if you walk on them and pickup combinations with many sound possibilities, etc. are what everyone expects a rock guitar to be have after the RG model came on the market.
But the RG is also so much more than just a rock, for many years now it has been the first choice for guitarists who want playability, reliability and breadth in an instrument of the absolute highest quality.
A guitar that can handle whatever you use it for and that can easily keep up with your pop gig in the morning, your jazz gig at lunchtime and the fusion playing in the studio while you wait for the dance band studio job to start before heading off for the evening's metal gig for to then continue to a smoky blues jam until the wee hours. Whatever you play, the guitar will deliver what you need.
The body is made of Basswood (Lind), which is a fairly light wood with an even frequency reproduction over the entire register. This makes it a wood that, in terms of sound, is easy to color in many different directions and get many different kinds of sounds out of it. The even frequency reproduction also makes it very suitable for distorted sounds, it glues the sound together nicely without it being either scattered or indistinct.
- Pickups: Fishman Fluence Modern Humbuckers
- An active mic with two different sounds you can switch between built into the mic itself called voice 1 and voice 2.
- Voice 1 - "Modern Active High Output - The ideal active ceramic humbucker tone. Crisp, searing crunch, tight bass with no mud, and a growl".
- Voice 2 - "Modern Passive Attack - Organic, high output, passive ceramic tone. Superb distortion characteristics with Fluence dynamics and response".
The guitar has an Ibanez Super Wizard HP neck profile, the thinnest and slimmest version of Ibanez necks. HP stands for it being a refined and further developed version of the old Super Wizard neck profile. Combined with the flat fingerboard, it's an extremely fast and easy-to-play neck, the ultimate neck for fast, technical riffing and/or trick soloing. But the neck is not limited to technical playing, it is of course possible to play everything on it. The obvious choice for those who don't want anything else in the way of their ideas other than their own playing technique.
