The Ibanez George Benson GB10 model has been on the market since 1977 and can in no way be seen as anything other than a classic in the jazz guitar market, a model that has been the benchmark for small size jazz cans since then. Here we are talking about guitars in the absolute top tier, a wet dream for anyone who has ever considered playing jazz. The GB10EM is a Benson model in the budget price range, at a fantastic price.
The neck is a set-in (glued) Nyatoh GB neck, an easy-to-play, stable neck that is comfortable for the hand both when playing chords and single notes. The neck reaches the body at 15-16 frets on the bass side and at the eighteenth on the treble side. The fretboard is bound walnut, everything for an optimal combination of tone, sustain and feel, with block inlays of acrylic.
The neck, which is a 24.7" (628mm) scale, is strung with 22 medium-type frets. The pickups are Ibanez Magic Touch mini humbuckers that sit floating mounted in the pickguard and neck to minimize the risk of rounding.
It also means that you don't have to make holes in the top, which improves sustain, tone and resonance. The pickups each have their own tone and volume and are connected to a 3-position toggle switch. The body is laminated spruce in the top and Linden in the bottom and sides, which makes a more stable guitar that is less sensitive to humidity and more durable. Simply put, a guitar that's built to sound perfect and be absolutely reliable night after night for life.
