The GVB36 is a simpler version of Gerald Veasley's signature model GVB1006. This has, among other things, simpler pickups and EQ systems. The bass is a narrow six with 14mm string spacing (normal is 16.5) and this is to facilitate chord playing, which is a large part of Gerald's playing style. The body is a comfortably cut alder body with a selected beautiful flamed maple top.
The head also has a flaming maple top, matching headstock. The bridge is the Ibanez Mono-Rail IV, a bridge designed to isolate the strings from each other. The insulation provides optimal transmission of the string's vibrations down into the body without the strings affecting each other. A stable and very easily adjusted stable. The EQB-IIISP EQ/Preamp system has a ± 18db boost/cut to the bass register, ± 16db boost/cut at 250Hz or 600Hz (selectable with push/pull pot) and ± 18db boost/cut at for the treble register. A system that, together with the Bartonili® MK1 mics, provides a wide and flexible selection of sounds.
