The Supro Super Alnico pickup is faithful reproduction of the high-output single-coil pickup found in bridge position of the top-of-the-line vintage Supro guitars such as the Rhythm Master, Silverwood and Coronado archtop.
Developed in the late 1950’s as answer to Gibson’s P90 pickup, the Super Alnico has one hugely overwound coil that gives it a focused midrange bite and top-end clarity of a single coil pickup.
The original Super Alnico pickups were too big to fit in most guitars, but the new Supro Super Alnico pickups contain the same vintage spec magnet and coil wiring, and fit into a standard Humbucker size.
